Higher score for sustainability

News from Landbell Group

Landbell Group is excited to announce a meaningful achievement on its sustainability journey – the EcoVadis Silver Medal for the second year running.

The Group is proud of this achievement because it reflects our commitment to responsible business practices and the efforts made over the last year.

While the medal colour is the same as last year, we improved on our previous score by 13 points, now sitting in the 94th percentile.

EcoVadis is a globally recognised platform that provides holistic sustainability ratings for corporations. The sustainability ratings are based on the evaluation of companies’ non-financial performance under four themes: Environmental, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

Environmental compliance

On 22 January 2025, the European Union published the final version of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in the Official Journal.

The new regulation will officially enter into force on 11 February 2025, with its general provisions becoming applicable 18 months later, on 12 August 2026.

The PPWR replaces the previous Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD) and introduces new rules for the entire lifecycle of packaging.

Chemical compliance

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added five hazardous substances and updated an existing entry on the Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC) for Authorisation.

The substances include persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic chemicals that are used in lubricants, greases, metal working fluids, personal care and cleaning products, coatings, sealants and adhesives.

The list currently contains 247 entries for hazardous chemicals, some of them are groups so the actual number of substances is higher.
