The Higher Purpose - Part 3 (The Divine Compass)

I have a definite dream, a purpose and a true goal in my mind for my kids as well. But with every new day and new events I have a hard time keeping it my top priority. And spend days and months without it. How do I keep reminding myself of the purpose amidst the pollution you refer to so rightly in the interview? 

ANS: Imagine you have to go from one point to the other for the first time. Imagine you just set off form Islamabad to Lahore. You will see many sign boards guiding you to every place between you and Lahore. Obviously a whole list of cities will be on every board on the way but somehow if you are clear as to where you are headed, you will unintentionally blur out the names of all the places other than Lahore from the boards. You most naturally and with no intention of your own, would only focus and concentrate on the word Lahore in so many things which you would never have noticed otherwise. On boards of even restaurants if they are have written 'Lahori' food and not only just that,  anything that even rhymes with Lahore will also catch your eye. Even on Tea cups and napkins in some restaurants on the way. The word 'Lahore' will come flying to you from little and big things. This is exactly how a clear enough purpose sets up its own reminders to its followers and acts as a guide. In this case these signs would be travelling towards you at 120 Km/h as if they are in a hurry to guide you and make you feel closer to your purpose.  Go on a trip to a far enough place through a track where getting lost is easy enough. You'll see how amazing this phenomenon acts upon you when you do this in real life. 

And that's not the best part. Where it gets most interesting is that if you have driven for a long enough time without any signboard saying 'Lahore' on it, you will get nervous and anxious. All the distractions in the world no matter how entertaining would lose their fun until you can make sure that you are on the right track. And once you are looking at the ever decreasing distance on the sign boards, no matter who would try and create panic, nothing would shake that serenity and calmness in your actions. 

Can you even imagine for a minute that if the purpose is not just any person, a place or a thing, but the most supreme being; The Almighty Himself. (Or even just God's work on this planet) You'd be getting more than just a reminder from him, more than just a neon sign. You'd be getting mind opening epiphanies from concepts other wise known as just ordinary by other people. You'd look at the same picture and you'd get deeper meanings and clearer perspectives. You'd hear the same speech and get a totally different level of inspiration and motivation. You would be Calm and serenity will embrace you in the same situations where people would be getting anxious. And most of all, you would read the same verses and get a whole new meaning from the Quran. You'd be gulping wisdom from the same pools where people would only be sipping intelligence. These are just a few gifts of the majestic life driven by the Higher purpose. 

When your purpose is clear, every day is exciting, things like fatigue and hardship become a source of inspiration affirming that you are on the right path. And if you are not even sure where you are going, you don't even get inspired even when you get there.

 (Not that its relevant here but let me take the liberty to add here that 'MONEY' has a million sign boards in every direction. That's because there is no 'one code' of making money. This is why people who follow this as a purpose have cars stopping at every sign board and chasing every big and easy road. Plus you'll find a millions of cars broken down where people are tying to kill each other on the 'Bypass' signs or other 'short cuts' to Lahore. Since the thing about short cuts is that it gets you the goal but never ever gets you the sense of achievement)
