Higher productivity. Improved retention. Increased revenue.

Higher productivity. Improved retention. Increased revenue.

If talent management is what drives these critical business imperatives, employee engagement is the accelerator that helps organisations achieve more, better, and faster. So how can talent leaders turn employee engagement from a fuzzy item on their “to do list” to an integrated, performance-driven business initiative?

If we want our organisations to achieve higher productivity, improved talent retention and increased revenue, then we must understand that employee engagement is the accelerator that helps organisations achieve goals. Talent is the most important asset in an organisation, and the lifeblood of its success. There is no stronger predictor of success for an organisation than a highly engaged workforce.

There are a number of tools, but the most recent tool released this year is Saba's Pulse 360. We launched this at IPM last week here in Southern Africa. There has been a phenomenal response!

Whilst employee engagement is certainly a crucial element to increased performance and productivity - the level of competence of these staff in an environment conducive to enabling performance is key too. Staff engagement is not the silver bullet but certainly can be a leading indicator to issues that you need to adapt to quickly to avoid losing them completely.

I once worked for a company which used HPO as a punchline for its culture. The issue is that the leadership and management did not truly embrace the power of employee engagement, and still has one of the highest turnover rates in the immediate region. Ignoring your talent is a major mistake most organizations have made, and continues to make today.

This is very interesting. Organisations who view performance holistically will also achieve higher productivity, improved talent retention and increased revenue as well as sustainable performance. Unfortunately a higher engaged workforce alone will not improve performance. Other systemic factors will also impact performance. Although I agree people are your most important asset but they will be engaged if the other sub-systems are aligned.
