Higher personal accountability

Higher personal accountability

I have created the Impactful Leadership Manifesto to encourage leaders to consider the impact they are having on their various stakeholders.

It's easy to overplay what we input into our businesses (such as?hours invested), without considering the impact of these actions. The most successful leaders of the best companies understand that?impact on employees, clients, partners and shareholders matters more than input.

Mantra 7

It starts with you!

It's easy to want a better team around you and believe that if you had that, life would be more fulfilling. What's overlooked here is (generally) we get the team and performance that our leadership deserves.?

To inspire others to operate to a higher standard, this must stem from the standards you demonstrate. Be accountable. It’s not what you do when people are watching that counts, it’s what you do when no-one is that matters. This represents accountability to your own principles and defines who you really are.

Leaders have followers, and followers mimic the behaviours of those who lead. So, if you want:

  • To see more proactivity within your team, model what this looks like
  • More of your team to hit personal targets,?ensure you're hitting your own??
  • Productive, punctual meetings,?always be early and bring the energy?

Often, leaders don't have anyone holding them to account, which is why it's important they're responsible to themselves.

Regularly check you are not deviating from your values.?Are the behaviours you're exhibiting now what you want your colleagues/employees to adopt?

How might holding yourself to higher standards change things?

Does this resonate with you??If you would like to find out more about how I coach and how this could work for you, please get in touch ...

Hello, I’m Nick Cramp. I’ve been working as business owner and coach now for around three decades.

During this time, it often occurred to me that many leaders feel unfulfilled by their work, which seemed a pity given the amount of time and effort they have invested. I want to change this, so have created and collected a selection of the best strategies for business improvement.

My main mantra is that an organisation must get better before bigger. The reason for this is that without the best people, processes and systems, you have no springboard to reach that next level and sustain this success.

In 2021, I published my book Better before Bigger – Rethinking Business Success , which alongside my coaching and courses, outlines a holistic approach to running a thriving company.

I want to guide ambitious leaders towards the best practices and results, so their reality can align with their ambitions.
