An HSC (class 12th) student asked me yesterday,” How do I choose the right University? There are so many universities and colleges today that call me on a daily basis for admissions. Kindly enlighten.”?
I replied "If you fail to prepare, get prepared to fail. Failing to plan is planning to fail. Opportunity Comes To Those Who are Prepared".?
Hereby, dedicating this article to those obscured UG Students who are planning for some random graduation program just to escape society's judgmental looks !!!?
Let us throw some light on the undergraduate admissions 2023. As always, a lot of institutions follow the conventional way of selecting students through entrance exams like SET, IIT JEE, MIT, FEAT, CUET and other exams scores and those of you who have got 90-95 percentile cut off in these examinations followed by GDPI, WAT, SOP, interviews should make it to one of the top 100 institutions in India. But what about those remaining 40,000 + educational institutions? What about the selection criteria of these institutions for students who can't make it to the top 100. Well, institution after institution calls you on a daily basis saying they are very good colleges and so on. But guys, here's the catch.
A good college will never call you and say it is a good college. Ideally, they will call you to attend webinars, networking sessions, sessions with CEOs/CSOs on entrepreneurial thinking, Careers in LAW, leadership series etc. Besides, you need to understand here that a BAD college will also never say it is bad. There exists a very strong thick line between a good and a bad college. The problem is that there are very few career counsellors who can explain to you on how thick can thick be. A good college is transparent in their processes so that a student can entrust them with their future.
Now, here are a few enchanting tips to identify a good undergraduate school.
- First and foremost, most of the good institutions offer a diversified culture of having a multidisciplinary ecosystem of different schools under one umbrella, like B.Tech., Liberal education, Law, Design, Psychology, Music, Management Studies, Healthcare etc. The B.Tech. students may therefore interact with students of music, liberal arts, psychology, and others by way of clubs and out-of-classroom activities. Some institutions also harp on the fact that the UG and PG students should work on different in-house activities, clubs, Co-Curricular and Extra Co-Curricular activities together.

- Such institutions foster collaborative learning.
Here is when our role comes into the picture as an educational institution. We help you with PROFILE BUILDING before letting you choose us or any other college. We not only assist you choose the right college, but also help you in seeking internships, scholarships, networking, throw some light on study India - study abroad, get you out of the dilemma whether to go for Engineering, Medicine, Law, Psychology, Management, give you full-fledged know-how of each specialisation and give tips and tricks on how to crack Entrance exams, GD-PI, WAT and much more, all of that which comes under profile-building.
Most of the top institutions like FLAME, MIT Pune, Ashoka, IIM s, JGU, SNU, Azim Premji University etc. are not ready to take students ONLY on the basis of the their academics which means that there is no guarantee of admission in these institutions even if you have scored 10 GPA in SSC and HSC. They look for the overall profile of the student which includes how has the student evolved from class VIII to class XII, how has he strengthened his profile, how many summer schools has he attended over these years- both offline and online, foreign languages learned, internships done, their own entrance exams to GDPI to WAT, Co-Curricular activities and what not. A student who takes admission based on our detail-oriented selection process, we help him with online guidance, online profile-building support, and internship assistance to build his profile. Moreover, It is nowhere written that to procure a decent package, you must do Graduation or post graduation. No, NOT AT ALL !!? Profile Building and Quality Networking can help you to get a decent job? in a good company, which perhaps is not provided by most colleges in India. My suggestion to you is to use High school years to upskill yourself, learn a foreign language as suggested by us, do an online program suggested by us, contact us for internship support, and you never know, you may land up in a decent job/ startup straight after Class XII. Get enrolled into the PROFILE BUILDING program, work on your profile, skill yourself.
With the New Education Policy coming in, one does not have to essentially finish all the years of graduation in one go. You may complete year-1 in graduation to get a certificate, year-2 for a Diploma, year-3 for a degree and year-4 for a Degree honors. On the whole, it means that you can spend one year in college and still get a decent job based on your profile without a degree. Also, taking a gap after graduation is no longer criminal. A gap-year programme is one of the most effective ways for students to broaden their knowledge outside of the classroom.
Today, thousands of colleges graduate crores of students, and out of those crores, only a miniscule are employable.
So, what are you waiting for? Go through the whole experience of Profile Building and then decide on your dream college.?
All the best !!!

1 年So true! A win-win-win situation for all. Good for the student, as one's future isn't determined by just one exam/phase of life. Good for the uni - they get to really 'build a cohort' on the lines of what the school's overall objective is. Good for he recruiter - they can be assured of candidates with wider perspectives.
