Today’s trends in the cars industry is raising high voltage from 400 Volts to 800 Volts very shortly. This will help to optimize charging times, longer driving autonomy, battery weight savings and reducing unnecessary power loss.
Those high voltages combined with battery packs are representing major challenges in terms of R&D as well as After-sales repair for the automotive industry.
As Panasonic is always willing to offer unique solutions to the automotive industry, we’ve designed a FLIR Lepton 3.5 thermal camera that can be integrated in the latest Toughpad FZ-G2.
Having this thermal camera inside the tablet is a way to verify the thermal cooling, protection, insulation efficiency and other designs to find some hidden dangers such as shell fatigue, rupture and local overheating that cannot be observed by the naked eyes to avoid fire and explosion.
This thermal camera is also useful to check the high voltage charging station and the charging infrastructures.
This new rugged tablet Toughpad FZ-G2 is the right Gemba solution for High Voltage & battery challenges for the automotive industry and charging infrastructure !
If you feel interested to evaluate this thermal camera, you can contact me and with the modularity of the FZ-G2, this option can also be upgraded afterwards.
