High Value Honey

My colleague Steven Bell has been busy bee over the last few months. Our asset at Littlebrook, Dartford is already a top class example of ESG in action. The development was completed in 2021 and sits on what was a brownfield site. It was developed by Bericote , is occupied by Amazon and owned by Tritax Big Box

Despite being a 'mega shed' it is all electric with a substantial solar array on the roof. Externally it has 30% of the site set aside for open space and habitat creation.

As part of our asset management plans, Steve has has brought to site a large population of bees. Apparently over a million but then not sure how you could get them to be still enough for a head count...

These bees have now produced the first jars of our own honey. The hives are looked after by a group of local bee keepers who also involve local schools in the process.

Not only is the honey great on toast it's an example of our approach towards social impact.

Social impact for us is about delivering for our local communities. It's about having the best possible relations with the people surrounding our buildings and making sure that the value of our investments reaches those most in need. Our partnership with Schoolreaders tackling the challenges of literacy improvement in primary schools is a good example of helping to deliver change.

Access to labour is a key consideration for our customers, just ask Mark Fergusson our head of occupational leasing. The people agenda is a massive challenge in Logisitics. Part of our social impact programme is also focussed on the highly skilled jobs and careers available within the Logistics sector.

At Tritax Group we are all about action and leading our sector by example. So Steve's jar of honey may be just that but it is worth so much more......
