Why Belzona 1593??

Belzona 1593 is designed for long-term protection of process vessels in extreme conditions, handling temperatures up to 320°F (160°C) under continuous immersion in water and hydrocarbons. It also withstands steam-out processes up to 410°F (210°C) and rapid depressurisation.?

Unlike traditional rigid coatings that can crack under thermal cycling and substrate movement, Belzona 1593 is engineered for durability and flexibility. Its unique formulation includes rubber-like domains that prevent cracks from spreading, allowing it to endure temperature and pressure changes while maintaining adhesion. This next-generation lining provides superior corrosion and chemical resistance while adapting to stress and movement, reducing the risk of ruptures or fractures.?


Case Study: Corroded Ejector Oil Surge Drum - Belzona UK?

A recent project carried out by Belzona UK Ltd involved the internal lining of a heavily corroded ejector oil surge drum. Measuring 4 meters (13.1 feet) in length and 900mm (35.4 inches) in diameter, the vessel was transported to Belzona UK’s workshop in Hawarden, where it underwent meticulous surface preparation.?The vessel was grit-blasted to a minimum standard of SA 2? cleanliness, achieving a surface profile exceeding 75μm.

To reinforce small straight bore nozzles, Belzona nozzle inserts were installed before the application of two coats of Belzona 1593.?To ensure coating integrity, the lining underwent spark testing at 3kV in accordance with NACE SP0188 standards, confirming complete coating continuity.?
