High-Tech, High-Wisdom: What about Wisdom?

I was pleased to hear of the importance for leaders to develop higher dimensions of wisdom even in church during Christmas celebrations. It is definitely the quest of our times. So how committed are you with the quest for wisdom?

What I heard from a wise pastor I had the pleasure of meeting over the holidays, was that "the way you live now is controlled by what you believe the future to be." And while he was talking about nurturing faith and hope and encouraging his congregation to do the work and see through their own eyes, I see a strong correlation with the power in each of us, regardless of religion or faith, to do the work, to develop holistic intelligence, to ask more potent questions, to tap into higher dimensions of wisdom to better integrate knowledge and create the future, embracing our journeys of self-leadership not to be controlled by machines or people and ideas, but to create the future, according to our beliefs.

As Yasuhiko Genku Kimura, a philosopher, independent scholar, and former ordained Zen Buddhist priest now turned consultant and advisor to leaders, reminds us in the quote above and in the podcast we recorded,

Another relevant aspect I heard from both Yasuhiko and the pastor has to do with marveling. We are responsible for our actions, and it is about time to leave the position of victim and to "become the cause." This attitude makes the whole difference between marveling in life's quest for wisdom or not.

And, if I may add to Yasuhiko's remark above, it's a function of thought and imagination and also of good practice and hard work! However, hard work doesn't have to be lonely and overwhelming.
