Thriving in moist, humid conditions, this pathogen often leads to considerable crop losses. While chemical fungicides are commonly used to control this fungus, their efficacy can vary, and they pose environmental safety concerns. Therefore, there is a growing demand for in-depth research into the molecular interactions between B. cinerea and its host plants to bolster plant defenses and foster sustainable agriculture.
