High Performance Concrete

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.
What is high performance concrete?
High-performance concrete is a concrete that meets the requirements of special performance combination and homogeneity. Using traditional raw materials and general mixing, pouring and curing methods, it is often impossible to produce this kind of concrete in large quantities. This definition is a quality goal and a concept that attaches importance to the quality control of the whole process of concrete production and construction.
The outstanding progress of high-performance concrete in China is reflected in the production and special construction technology of concrete with specific performance requirements, such as self-compacting concrete, high-strength concrete, large-volume mineral admixture concrete, and ultra-high and ultra-long-distance pumping construction.
Components of high performance concrete:
1. Cement: usually ordinary Portland cement
2. Mineral fine powder: silica fume, fly ash, finely ground slag powder, natural zeolite powder, metakaolin powder and its composite fine powder should be used
3. Aggregate: medium and coarse river sand or artificial sand with hard texture and good gradation should be selected.
4.Mixing water

5.Chemical admixtures: The admixtures used in high-performance concrete must comply with the current national regulations on "concrete admixtures" GB8076-2008, "polycarboxylate high-performance water reducer" JG/T223-2017 and "application of concrete admixtures" Technical Specifications" GB50119-2013, and should be harmless to concrete and steel. The water-reducing agent used should be a high-efficiency water-reducing agent, and its water-reducing rate should not be less than 20%.
The first characteristic of high performance concrete is durability, so the concrete must have high density and volume stability.
Therefore, its components are more complex than ordinary concrete, and there are various technical ways to obtain it. However, these technical measures are often used in combination when preparing high-performance concrete.
1. Reduce the water-cement ratio to obtain high strength.
2. Reduce the porosity to obtain high density and low permeability.
3. Improve the hydration products of cement to increase strength and compactness
4. Improve the bonding strength of cement and other binders and aggregates
5. Use non-cement reinforcing materials such as fibers, resins, etc.
