Striving for the best version of yourself means committing to activities and goals that resonate deeply with your values and passions. In our personal lives, this involves doing what we love and ensuring these pursuits align with our core principles. When we align our actions with our values, we lay the foundation for authentic living. In our professional lives, this alignment is crucial for "practising what we preach." As a high-performance coach, I emphasize ensuring my values and actions match standards.
This means doing the due diligence to learn what it takes to excel and then teaching and demonstrating those principles. High-performance coaches assist clients in setting clear, specific, and measurable goals that align with their aspirations and desired outcomes. They help clients clarify their objectives, create actionable plans, and equip them with the skills needed for success. Intrinsic motivation, the self-guided drive to succeed, is a critical trait for high-performance coaches to instil in their clients.
When our values, actions, and teachings are congruent, we not only achieve personal and professional excellence but also inspire those we coach to do the same.
Acronym for "CONGRUENCE" that synergizes sales performance, high-performance coaching, ultra running, and planning strategy:
C - Commitment: Dedicate yourself fully to your goals, whether in sales or ultra running. Commitment fuels perseverance and resilience.
O - Objectives: Clearly define your objectives. In sales, set targets; in running, set milestones. Objectives provide direction and purpose.
N - Nurture: Nurture your skills and talents through continuous learning and high-performance coaching. Growth mindset is key to both sales success and athletic performance.
G - Goals: Set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals. This applies to sales quotas and ultra-running achievements.

R - Resilience: Build mental and physical resilience. Overcoming challenges in ultra running and sales requires a strong, resilient mindset.
U - Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of your market and clients in sales, and your body and limits in running. Knowledge drives strategy.
