High-Level Joint Sessions with UNEP FI

Building Bridges is excited to join?forces with United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) this year, bringing two impactful sustainable finance events under one roof from 9-12 December in Geneva. With 2,500+ attendees from over 100 countries, including leaders from finance, government, and civil society, #BuildingBridges24 and the UNEP FI?Global Roundtable #GRT2024?will help shape the future of finance and foster collaboration for a just and sustainable global economy.

Everyone registered will automatically gain access to?both the Building Bridges Action Days and the UNEP FI Global Roundtable.

To kick off this collaboration, we are excited to reveal details about the High-Level Joint Sessions on Tuesday, 10 December, 2024. From 9am, we will learn about?Accelerating Systems Change through Finance?and following this, we go into How Finance drives the Sustainability Agenda Forward. • Our friends at Open Geneva recently held the 6th annual #SustainableFinanceHack this weekend in the SDG Solution Space in Geneva. Fifty diverse participants, from students and international organization delegates to finance professionals and NGO representatives, came together for 24 hours with one shared goal: to co-create practical solutions to 7 critical challenges linked to sustainable finance. • The World Trade Organization Secretariat organised its fifth edition of the #TradeandEnvironmentWeek from?7-11 October 2024. This included a High-Level event with the Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and fifteen side events on a wide range from renewable energy, nature-positive trade, plastic pollution, critical minerals, sustainable agriculture, and trade-related?climate measures. • The?79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA)?in New York City recently provided the backdrop for a series of key sustainability events, including Climate Week New York, the?Summit of the Future (where the Pact for the Future was adopted) and the WEF Sustainable Development Impact Meetings.
