High Level Accountability

Let me give you a valuable lesson i’ve learnt from over five years of coaching 


The answers to most of our issues are already present and within us 


The problem is that covering up those answers is a well known area/ zone... The comfort zone 


This is a place of excuses, shifting the blame and negative self talk that we disguise as ‘just being real’ 


Everytime a client is underperforming or slacking.. I don’t tell them what to do, or tell them to fix up, or tell them where they could be doing better 


I ask them.. 


I ask them to unleash their demons and be honest with themselves and especially me, because I know the truth and can see straight through any comfort zone 


It is at this point that we find out what’s really going, why the scales are not moving and the body may not have changed over the last couple of weeks 


Why they’re not accelerating at the rate they could 


Once they’ve revealed the truth, we work together on the solution, again led by themselves… 


‘Based on what I have taught you is the right thing to do, how can we fix what you are currently doing’ 


When we guage this and set it in stone


All that is left is for them to do as they say and for me to hold them accountable 


Take Bernadetta (name switched for client privacy reasons), we have a regular 15 minute call over zoom. I told her that if she did not complete the workouts she had set out for her, then on our next call she would be doing 50 burpees (search burpees and try one to get an idea) 


After completing the 50 burpees on our next call because well… you know why, I noticed a change in her. She didn’t have to do any burpees the next time and I respected that. She knew what she had to do and she also knew there would be no B.S’ing 


I say this to say that whether you are ready to ask for help or not 


The answers are within you


You know where you are going wrong 


You know what you could be doing better 


I’m not saying you have all the answers because the reality is… you probably don’t

But you can start the road to optimisation by simply asking yourself these 3 questions 


  1. What are you doing wrong?
  2. What could you do better? 
  3. What will you do every single day to be successful
