High Concentration Type I Collagen

High Concentration Type I Collagen

Lifeink? 200 is 5 mL of high concentration type I collagen (35 mg/ml).

Cell Encapsulation / Extrusion:

Lifeink? 200 is an extremely useful tool for cell delivery or 3D bioprinting.

The collagen in the syringe is neutralized and isotonic, making it easy for you to encapsulate cells in the collagen (in the syringe).

The concentrated collagen is shear thinning, so it is easily extruded through a 30G needle with high cell viability, yet extrudes as a continuous collagen filament (as seen in the live/dead image above).

Collagen Gel Strength:

When incubated at 37°C (or injected in an animal model, for example), Lifeink? 200 will also increase in gel stiffness, as seen by this rheology graph.

This increase in stiffness strengthens the extruded collagen material/filaments.

3D Bioprinting:

Lifeink? 200 is also useful for 3D bioprinting because it is able to be printed with high resolution and shape fidelity.

Lifeink? 200 is considered the only commercially available native bioink, being composed of pure type I collagen (and not other fillers, such as alginate, cellulose, or gelatin, to name a few).

The type I collagen environment is very cell friendly, and provides a native environment for cell growth, proliferation and migration.

The meniscus above was printed using Lifeink? 200 and the FRESH method.
