After the stupendous success of 'The Catcher in the Rye, JD Salinger became a recluse.
Harper Lee wrote 'To Kill a Mockingbird and then went silent.
We'll never understand genius recluses.
Why did they stop writing and sharing?
A lot of great work doesn't see the light of day simply because the creators hid it from view. It might be because they thought it wasn't good enough, or they fear being mocked. And it's near impossible to find work that's hidden.
Either way, it's a loss for them, as well as us.
