The hidden savings of using a recruitment agency….

Recently I took a call from a membership organisation who were in a growth period, expanding and needing more staff.  They were in the privileged position of having gone through a busy period and attracting new members.  However, there was no one point of contact and they felt the members needed a dedicated person.

I met with them to see their culture and work out what was important to them and discuss the role.  When talking about the salary range they were being fairly generous and were offering a large range.  They were actually talking about paying a membership manager about $20,000 per year over the generous end of a normal salary.  I let them know that this wasn’t needed and reassured them that their wish list was realistic while still saving them money each year on the base salary.  They were really pleased that even with our fee, they would substantially save money.
