“I was never really about the money. Every business I’ve ever started has been more of a curiosity and a kind of “what if…” ~ Blake Mycoskie
Have you ever found yourself stuck in a cycle of regret, constantly asking yourself, "What if I had just...?" It's a common thought pattern that can lead to missed opportunities and self-defeating behaviors. This is especially true in the world of sports, where teams can become infected by negative thoughts, ultimately leading to failure and loss.
However, there is power in the "What if" question. What if we used it proactively? Instead of dwelling on missed opportunities, we can use "What if" to unlock new victories and positive momentum for change. For example, what if a team falls behind and a few players step up to give the quarterback extra time to throw the ball? What if that leads to a touchdown and inspires the team to make more incredible plays, ultimately resulting in a come-from-behind victory?
The key is to start asking ourselves "What if" questions more often. What if we wake up on the first alarm and hit the gym? What if we spend 20 minutes reading a chapter of a book instead of scrolling on our phones? What if we prioritize important projects over checking our email? What if we have that difficult conversation with an underperforming team member?
By using "What if" proactively, we can unlock the potential for new victories and positive change in our lives. So let's take back the power of "What if" today and use it as our secret weapon to build positive momentum for change.
