The Hidden Power Blocks Keeping Women Stuck—And Why Most Coaching Approaches Can’t Break Them

Women today aren’t struggling to achieve.

We’ve built careers, launched businesses, earned degrees, shattered glass ceilings, and proven—over and over again—that we can play at the highest levels of success.

But there’s a quiet crisis happening beneath the surface of all this achievement.

Women are realizing that success alone isn’t enough.

We’re moving into an era of?self-actualization—where the question is no longer? What can I achieve??but?Who am I meant to become?

And this shift is exposing a profound gap in the coaching industry.

Most coaching methods were designed to help women?achieve?within an outdated paradigm of power. They teach goal-setting, productivity, mindset hacks, and confidence-building—assuming that if a woman just does more, pushes harder, and believes in herself, she’ll break through.

But the real obstacles keeping women from stepping into their highest expression are not external. They’re not about skills, strategies, or even mindset.

They’re?hidden internal barriers—deeply embedded patterns of?Shame, Lack, and Isolation—that most coaching approaches don’t even recognize, let alone address.

The Three Hidden Power Blocks Holding Women Back

1.?Shame: The Deep Belief That “I’m Not Enough”

Many women, no matter how accomplished, carry an invisible story that tells them they are fundamentally lacking in some way.

It whispers:?I’m too much. I’m not enough. I don’t belong. I’m not valuable. I’m not seen. I’m not safe.

This isn’t just insecurity—it’s a deep, subconscious wiring that affects everything: our ability to own our voice, trust our instincts, and step fully into our leadership.

Traditional coaching tells women to “be more confident.” But confidence alone doesn’t rewrite the story.

2.?Lack: The Feeling That There’s Not Enough for Me

Many women struggle with a sense of being?disconnected?from the flow of life—from the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

They feel they have to work twice as hard, prove themselves constantly, or control every outcome just to stay afloat.

This block manifests as financial scarcity, creative stagnation, or an inability to receive support. It’s the inner belief that says:?If I don’t do it all myself, I will fail.

Traditional coaching teaches women to hustle harder. But hustling only deepens the cycle.

3.?Isolation: The Belief That I Have to Do It Alone

Even the most community-oriented women often feel alone when it comes to manifesting their deepest dreams.

We have networks. We have friendships. But when it comes to stepping into our highest potential, many of us believe we have to figure it out alone.

This is a?masculine paradigm?of power—where leadership means independence, and vulnerability is mistaken for weakness.

But self-actualization is not an individual journey. It’s an?emergent?process that happens in relationship with the right people, in the right containers, with the right support.

Why Most Coaching Approaches Fail to Address These Blocks

Here’s the truth: You?cannot?self-actualize on top of these hidden power blocks.

You can’t step into your purpose while secretly believing you’re not good enough. You can’t create abundance while operating from a story of scarcity. You can’t unlock your genius while believing you have to figure everything out alone.

Yet most coaching methods still operate from an outdated,?achievement-based?model that treats surface-level behaviors instead of these deeper, systemic barriers.

That’s why women who have already?achieved?so much still feel stuck.

The answer isn’t another productivity hack, mindset trick, or success strategy.

It’s a completely new coaching approach—one that recognizes and?rewires?these hidden power blocks at their core.

The Future of Coaching: Unlocking Feminine Power

The next evolution of coaching is not about teaching women how to succeed in a?masculine?model of power.

It’s about unlocking their?Feminine Power—the capacity to create from a place of deep?alignment, connectedness, and co-creation.

It’s about helping women shift from:

???Hustling harder?→ ??Tapping into flow ???Proving themselves?→ ??Embodying their worth ???Operating from scarcity?→ ??Receiving with ease ???Doing it alone?→ ??Creating in powerful partnerships

This is what most coaching approaches miss.

And it’s why, if you’re a coach, your success in the coming years will depend on whether you can help women navigate this shift.

The world doesn’t need more women who can simply achieve goals.

It needs more women who can step fully into their power, break free from these invisible barriers, and create the future they were born for.

And that requires an entirely new way of coaching.

Which of these hidden power blocks—Shame, Lack, or Isolation—do you see your clients struggling with with? How do you see it showing up? Let’s start a conversation in the comments!"

I love your work, Dr. Claire Zammit One of the biggest ah-haas for me came from Feminine Power and your discussions on the fundamental differences between men and women, which sent me down a rabbit hole. I realized how much I had been chasing male models of success. Since then, I've been on a journey to re-embody womanhood, involving a significant shedding of the ways I thought I needed to be. Now, I support others in doing the same. I wish we could more boldly discuss sex differences in society, as I see immense value in it, especially for young girls who are often told they are just as good as men. This form of empowerment, while well-intentioned, seems to miss the real message: we are equal but not the same, and owning our differences is where we find our true power.

This framework has absolutely changed my life. It gave me the ability to change my parenting journey from struggle, overwhelm and burnout, to alignment, connection and including myself in my 'circle of care'. Profound beyond anything I could have imagined. I now have the honour of sharing this with other women, being witness to their transformations towards self actualisation while I continue mine ?? ?? ???? Brilliant and impactful all round, Thank you for being a beacon to so many ??
