The Hidden Mystery Behind LIMITING BELIEFS...

The Hidden Mystery Behind LIMITING BELIEFS...

Let’s jump into this week’s newsletter.

Here are some thoughts about limiting beliefs to consider.

But before I do that don't forget to ring my bell to follow future posts.

Here’s my social media account. The bell is top right of the page.

Okay, let’s get started.

As children, we believe anything.

For example, if you tell a child that there are “crocodiles under the bed” they will believe you.

However, as we age, we begin to form our own beliefs and stop looking for crocodiles.

Yet no matter how old we are. we are highly suggestible.

The book “Thinking in Bets” talks about this too.

I'd highly recommend that book.

To recap...

The premise here is that we first believe rather than don’t believe.

But wait...

"Mike, what’s that got to do with getting a flat stomach and losing a bit of weight?" I hear you ask.

Simple.

If right now you don’t believe it’s possible...

...Because you travel all over the world with work, have a crazy schedule, social life and work diary...

...Then it's not that you don’t believe you can achieve your ideal body goals while being a leader at work…

…It’s that you believe something contrary to reality.

For example, you may believe...

- You can't stick to things

- You have flawed genetics

- You feel that in some way you are unique in the area of health

Either way, I empathise.

Yes, you are special, but not in that way.

Again, to repeat, we never “don’t believe” anything…

We just may believe stuff that turns out to be untrue, when put under the microscope.

But how can we use that knowledge to improve our health?

How can we use this insight to drop 1, 2 3 stones over the next 4, 5, or 6 months and keep it off too?

Great question.

Changing 2-3 things per week step-by-step is a proven way to transform your life.

See testimonials.

Another example is the weightlifting competition I had on Saturday.

I believed I would never be able to compete in weightlifting again.

Volunteering at Birmingham's Commonwealth Games, I was walloped over the head with a smelly towel whilst sulking.

I was watching men and women at the top of their game whilst feeling I was past my prime.

Rubbing my sore knees I caught myself getting upset.

One of my friends, Andreas Michaelas, told me off for not making it to the weightlifting club to see my coach Terry.

(I say told me off, he flipping hit me over the head is what he did, but let's move on)

Anyway...

He was there coaching the Greek Cypriot lifter at the games.

It was a pleasant surprise to meet him there, while I was on dirty towel duty.

After the games, I went to see Terry.

Despite my Sepsis and leg infection keeping me from weightlifting, I decided to have a go.

Not one to let my limiting beliefs hold me back I set out to prove fact from fiction.

I asked myself “how do you know?” and “what if that wasn’t true?”

6 months later, I successfully competed.

See video.

Yet another limiting belief system was smashed and another achievement was unlocked.

The parallels to the psychology of fitness and behaviour change are clear.

If like me you aren't so fussed about numbers anymore and want to look, feel, act and be your best self...

I highly recommend you take up one of the two spaces left this month...

...In my life-changing peak performance project.

A 12-week transformation program for men who demand more from themselves.

Failing that stick around.

I understand there are many reasons why now might not be a good time for you.

I am going nowhere, just like my clients' results

Happy Monday

PS Here's a client testimonial from my client Paul.

He dropped 20 lbs in 12 weeks, whilst having fun with friends, saving lives and doing Zumba three times a week.
