The Hidden Infinite
When I look at this photograph I am reminded how incredible it is to be human, and to be a witness to humanity and to be on this earth at this time. Light is beautiful, and skin is beautiful, and we are as intricate and delicate as flowers. Our forms are ephemeral but our souls are not, they persist, That’s my belief, and somehow I can sense that in a photograph. It’s like there’s some sort of hidden code, or secret writing, that my subconscious picks up.
When I take a photograph I am searching for that hidden infinite. I can’t place it in time and space but it is almost always there. It’s as if the photograph is a portal to another world that sits directly on top of this one, perfectly aligned, and always in flux. And if you squint, ever so lightly, you can catch a glimpse of it. I can’t point to the exact location, because it has no exact location. It’s everywhere at once.
I think (I believe) that each one of us is a talisman, a gateway to that place. That place that’s not a place at all but a state of mind. A consciousness. I suspect that I’ve lost you by now but there’s so much about this world that we cannot see. Surely you’ve thought about that. The eyes in our heads, as miraculous an evolutionary marvel as they are, are but poor organs of perception when it comes to discerning anything outside the narrow spectrum that defines today’s reality.
If we are vibrational energy, maybe the eyes can pick up some of the oscillation. I am a poor scientist and have a rudimentary understanding of all things physics, but there’s something about vibrations, waveforms, that rings true to me. Perhaps I/we can sense this in an image that somehow captures these vibrations and organizes them into a form we recognize. I don’t know. I’m spit-balling here. But I do know that there’s something going on. When I see an image like this I believe there’s something more at work than photons and reflections. A photograph like this has a feeling. And I can’t explain that.
Just adore this photograph. ??

5 年Vincent, thank's for that post. I can you that you haven't lost all of us. And more of us are starting to see at deeper levels.
