Today i came across this article on @NDTV wherein a Brazilian drug lord was arrested as a result of the social media Instagram post put by his wife which gave out location of their whereabouts. This was where the LEAs used the information shared by user on social media for good of society but similarly there are instances when malicious actors and criminals use the information for carrying out crimes.
What we see is that, in our hyper-connected world, social media platforms have become a pivotal part of our daily lives. They allow us to stay connected with friends, share our achievements, and showcase our experiences. However, as a cybersecurity professional, I have seen firsthand the risks that come with oversharing, particularly when it involves sensitive information like your location.
