The hidden danger of biofilm in your HVAC system

Biofilm - the hidden cause of many health issues in your buildings air stream. While doing research for a new division we are opening soon, I discovered what biofilm is and how dangerous it can be for or health.

As a seasoned HVAC veteran I was never educated about biofilm, and was under the misconception that cleaning the coils the conventional way was enough to flush out all the harmful bacteria, mold, spores ect. The fact that these harmful germs was left behind made me think what a disservice me and my entire industry have been doing. Of course it was unintentional.

After understanding how to properly clean the evaporator coil-and find the ideal suppliers, I now plan to offer HVAC coil sanitizing as part of our services.

I am also working with a lab to come up with a better testing method than is available so that we know what we will be fighting and have an instrument to confirm that the addition of probiatic and enzemyes cleaners to our regular maintenance.

One thing I love about the HVAC field is the constant learning I go through. Me and my team are always in search of a better way to enhance the clients experience.
