It’s much cheaper and often a lot easier to sell to someone that has bought from you in the past, than it is to try and atrract new customers. That is, providing it was a pleasant experience for the customer at the time. So why do most business concentrate nearly all of their energies on trying to drum up new business? By doing this we are neglecting a Hidden Goldmine we could be sitting on.
Here’s a suggested order in which perhaps we should consider prioritising our marketing:
1. Getting existing customers to buy more and/or buy more often
2. Go back to those who have bought from you in the past and re-activate them
3. Entice new customers
