Putting culture first is the key to the successful move to a new green HQ
Emergency Services Times
For the latest news and information on all emergency services.
Hi Reader,
I spent last Friday with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, checking out the new HQ. I thought I’d be admiring the office space and its green credentials, and while I did, I also found a strong sense of inclusion that ran through the development process. We spend so much of our time at work, we want it to be a place we feel welcome and connected to the organisation and to our peers. You can read all about it below.
Having been buoyed by that experience, I was dismayed to read the culture reviews of two Welsh fire services and see that so much has to change with leadership playing a huge part. Juliette’s article provides some pointers on that in part two of her article on culture and leadership.
