Hi, I'm Helena, and I'm a ...
Helena Paschal, M.A. Communication
Leadership Development | Speaker | Author | I help individuals and companies enhance communication skills and strategic planning to drive career growth, leadership excellence, and organizational success.
single mother, entrepreneur, career coach, business consultant, event planner, public relations girl, author, speaker, and dog lover. I am a spiritual woman with a deep-rooted faith to believe that anything is possible. My expertise is filled with empathy, wisdom, and compassion for the person who is pursuing a dream.
When I graduated with a master’s degree, I moved to Atlanta. I was hit with the reality of drowning in student debt with bad credit. I got a job as an administrative assistant to keep my bills afloat. I was required to plan the company events and sales incentive trips. Later in my career, I became an HR manager.
I still needed more money, so I hired myself!
I started planning my own workshops to teach personal development and event planning. Business owners started asking me to plan their events and my career took off as a full-time event planner and event trainer with a thriving six-figure business.
Fast forward, life hit again, and my mom had a stroke that left her paralyzed and I became her caregiver. My business started to go down hill and when the pandemic hit, it came to a crashing halt!
I jumped on LinkedIn to update my profile to tell people about my online classes and I started getting messages from former students and connections asking me for advice about their resumes or their business.?It sparked something in me that I could make a bigger difference.
What has hit me most are the single mothers that contact me and say, “You probably don’t have time to talk to me but I’m having a hard time getting a job and I need some help with my resume and LinkedIn, it doesn’t look good, and I don’t know what to do.”
Many have been swindled by resume writers, they have ‘cute’ resume templates but no career clarity, no keywords, and no core values. I am so frustrated with seeing good people suffer.
I know I can’t save the world, but I can help people get a job or start a business. I have been working like crazy to build a movement that I hope will become a pay it forward movement (yes, like the movie). ?I am hoping the people I help will look back and help someone else.
Most of the resumes I have reviewed, mentioned how sales can drive results, but I believe hope drives results, too. If you need help and hope to bring your vision to life, I am here for you.
Here are 3 quick resume and LinkedIn profile tips:

#1) On your LinkedIn Profile, click the “More” button and click the option to “Build Your Resume.”? ?
Upload a copy of your resume as a Word or PDF doc. ?
Put in your desired job title and it will give you suggestions for exact keywords to add.
?
#2) Distribute your keywords throughout your resume.
If you claim to have 10 years of experience, the ATS (applicant tracking system) will scan your resume to make sure your keywords add up to your experience.
?
#3)?Put the keywords in the “Skills” section on your LinkedIn profile to make you more 'searchable.'
You can list up to 50 skills on your LinkedIn profile.?Even better, you can have your connections endorse your skills, which heightens your credibility.?
Optimizing your resume and your LinkedIn profile is the best way to get the interview. ?With a glimpse of your LinkedIn, recruiters can quickly determine if you are a good fit.
