Hi; Hello Sir; Salam Sir

Hi; Hello Sir; Salam Sir

Communication is very important in today's world. Language barrier is already over by the blessings of technology. It is now no longer a challenge in which language you are communicating. I am referring?to both verbal and non-verbal communication. We are now far away from the bonfire and smoke signals, we have attempted to move communication beyond?the realm of earshot.?

Verbal communication has become that easy that?we taught our pet birds?to talk! So does the written communication! You do not need to know grammar, correct spelling?or even how to make a sentence. The technology is so smart that it will suggest your sentence, spelling or even greetings!?

In my daily work I meet lots of people; some are virtual and some are physical. As?I am a Human Resources Professional, I get lots of CVs as well. If asked about their communication skill, all of them in one word say they are highly skilled in communication. Well, that is fantastic! Challenge lies elsewhere. When they communicate most of them prove themselves?wrong with their statement. I get lots of messages on LinkedIn. I try to respond to all messages. Sometimes most of the messages I get have no meaning! In the LinkedIn inbox people send messages in a weird way! I am confused about what to call it communication! I can't find the reason for that message!. It comes "Hi" or "Hello Sir" or "Hi Bhaiya" or "Salam" " can we talk?" " Hi, can I get your number?" and after replying to that message at my convenience I get another reply from that sender after two to three days "how are you Sir" and then vanish! More surprisingly, after a few days the message comes "I want to say you something"! Or "Do you have any vacancies"! Few messages came "Sir, I am very poor, please give me a job"! I wonder! Is poverty your skill or do you have any set of skills to justify candidature!

Communication is a very important tool to create one's impressions.Be specific if you are sending a courtesy message. If that is for a job you have to believe that lots of other people with similar or more skills and experience are reaching out to that same person. A job is a life changing thing. It will change your status and socio-economic condition. You shall not be casual or write in a way that you are asking for alms! You have to believe you deserve something good and you are the best fit for that.

Be specific and brief. Write your skills and expertise if you are looking for a job. For freshers, you can write your strengths and show how keen you are to get a job. Request for the email address rather than sending the CV directly in the LinkedIn message box. Without writing only "Hi" "Hello" or "Salam Sir" , write briefly what you want to say. It is not necessary that you have to write in English; if you are comfortable in Bangla, write it in Bangla.

Be confident! You are the best!
