From the Editor
Now, more than 30 years on, it’s not such a well-known fact for our clients today that we started life as an organisation in the leadership development space. Further, that one of our signature offerings, trans-Tasman Executive Learning Sets, has truly stood the test of time and continues to create ‘learning and light bulb moments’ for leaders across Australia and New Zealand.
Unless you’ve been in one, are in one, are returning to one, or facilitate one, it can be a little tricky to get your head around why ‘Sets’ are of such significant value to our members and have gone from strength to strength over three decades. So, I won’t attempt to do that in my editorial!
However, in this newsletter you can get a glimpse into some of the inspiring moments that occur across the Set community each quarter. Recently one of the Sets met in Darwin and heard from Dr Christine Connors the Northern Territory’s Chief Health Officer and Darcy Godden Executive Manager of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health at the NT PHN about some of the material improvements in health outcomes and life expectancy for First Nations communities.
Staying with the theme of lifelong learning, we are delighted to be confirmed as a proud sponsor of The Royal Women’s Hospital (the Women’s) Staff Scholarship Program. Professor Sue Matthews, the Women’s Chief Executive, is a champion of lifelong learning in others and indeed as a valued member of our Set community, she is also someone who leads by example. You can read more about that in this edition.
Last but not least check out some of the great roles we are currently recruiting to across Australia and New Zealand with more to be found on our website. Critical to all great appointments is the ability for candidates to demonstrate at interview how they are developing their leadership capability and as importantly applying those learnings in meaningful ways. Is this something you are paying attention to?
Until next time, please enjoy a great reading.
