Celebrating Our Comms Team

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the exceptional members of our telecommunications team who have recently completed the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) CDM (Construction Design and Management) course. This accomplishment is not just a testament to their dedication and commitment to professional growth, but also a reflection of the values we uphold as an organisation—continuous learning, safety, and excellence.

What is the IOSH CDM Course?

The IOSH CDM course is a highly regarded training program that equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage health and safety risks in construction projects. Covering key areas such as legal requirements, roles, and responsibilities of duty holders, risk assessment, and the integration of health and safety into the design process, this course is a critical step for anyone involved in construction and design management.

Why This Achievement Matters

Achieving the IOSH CDM certification is no small feat. It requires a deep understanding of complex regulations, an eye for detail, and a commitment to fostering a safe and efficient working environment. For our telecommunications team, this certification means they are now better equipped to manage projects that involve construction elements, ensuring safety is at the forefront of every stage.

The knowledge gained from this course will not only enhance their professional capabilities but will also have a positive impact on the broader team, allowing us to work more effectively and safely in our projects across the UK. It is this kind of proactive approach that sets our team apart and keeps us moving forward in the right direction. We look forward to seeing the positive impacts of these new skills on our future projects. From improved safety protocols to enhanced project management strategies, the knowledge and insights gained from the IOSH CDM course will undoubtedly elevate our team’s performance.

Here’s to a safer, smarter, and more efficient future for us all!

Well done, team!

Embracing the members of our team as 'A Company Well Connected'

At HF Comms, we believe that the strength of our company lies in the dedication and talent of our team. This month, we are proud to recognise another of the many great examples of quality and dedication within our company, Euan Shearer . Euan has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to delivering outstanding service to our clients and having joined HF Comms just two years ago as a Project Coordinator, he has quickly risen to the role of Senior Project Coordinator.

His promotion is a testament to his hard work, determination and alignment with our company’s core values. Recently, Euan received glowing praise from one of our valued clients, showcasing not only his expertise but also his ability to build trusted relationships and deliver top-notch results.

In Manchester for a training workshop

Another Successful Training Workshop in our Clients Manchester Office

At HF Comms, continuous learning and development are key to ensuring our team stays at the forefront of industry standards. This month, we participated in a highly engaging training workshop at our clients Manchester office, where important operational processes were covered in depth.

The workshop focused on several crucial areas, including:

  • Site Orientation: For smaller jobs, surveyors and CAD engineers were encouraged to resolve issues on-site if possible. For larger tasks, they were advised to email our customers CAD resources for assistance.
  • OLO Equipment: All antennas, even those omitted from the Master Design (MD), must be properly modelled and considered. If additional details are needed, communication with the client was emphasised.
  • Building Heights: Surveyors were reminded to confirm the heights of all buildings, including the host building and any neighbouring structures that may be affected by comms tower output.
  • Adjacent Construction Sites or Developments: We discussed the importance of checking nearby construction sites during the Multi-Site Visit (MSV) and verifying information through planning portals. Relevant case studies were shared to highlight the importance of due diligence.
  • RF Documentation: A large portion of the workshop was centred around RF importance with case study examples and use of RF documentation for public and occupational RF compliance when designing projects. Interactive session held to provide feedback on what can be improved and what is desired to make safety in the realm of RF easier to understand and model.
  • Highlighting poor examples of others: Examples of poor planning and joined up thinking were shown in example sites including where adjacent building sites were not taken into consideration or other kit not on the MD was omitted with no forward thinking applied to the feasibility piece.
  • Streamlining Processes: The customer showcased their document repository system which will allow document sharing and tracking to be much more efficient for future management.

The workshop was a great success, providing our team with the tools and knowledge to ensure the quality and precision of our work remains impeccable.

We look forward to more workshops like this as we continue to foster growth and collaboration with our clients, contractors and across our teams.

another good month for training for the team. Well done everyone!
