Hey you, don't give up okay?!

Friends,

From the PICA family to yours, we hope you are remaining optimistic in these challenging times. While COVID-19 has forced us all to face various uncertainties, we want to remind our valued partners, clients, colleagues, friends, and family that PICA is here for you. We are hopeful, we are grateful, and we will never give up!

We are thankful that silver linings and hopeful messages abound. For every article or social media posting that describes bleak outlooks, economic fallout, and a pandemic unlike one we've seen before, there are twice as many highlighting selflessness, the strength of the human spirit, and a willingness to remain resilient and help others stay positive.

Kind gestures are the theme we see repeated with more and more regularity. There are helpers everywhere (queue Mr. Rogers) and for those who have not found their way to assist financially or with services, many have found simple ways to lift the spirits of their families, coworkers, neighbors and friends.

On a walk with my dog Izzy (pictured, of course), I came across a positive message "campaign" written in chalk on the sidewalk. It spanned nearly a mile and was written in beautiful colors by multiple hands. There were positive words, sayings, and drawings. Some were simple, some were thoughtful, and others were a little bit demanding in their encouragement. The one that struck me was simple and to the point - "Hey you, don't give up!"

To be frank, we don't know what's coming. Not tomorrow, not next week, not into the summer. But we do know that we have all the tools to adapt and overcome - particularly if we do it together. PICA is here to help you get through this. Our resources span the globe and we are constantly reading, writing, and engaging with people just like you. We share or empathize with everyone's concerns and we're here to help solve problems or at least brainstorm how to start. Getting through this will require working as a community and community doesn't just involve sidewalk chalk in a suburban neighborhood. We are a phone call, an email, an online meeting, or a text away. Reach out anytime!

And remember.....
