Instead of playing “futebol” with Ukraine, consider a solution where Ukraine and some of the other Central Asian States would remain Independent Countries but become part of an autonomous United Nations protected “Opportunity Zone;” where their collective citizens could live in peace and benefit from their countries' independence and natural resources.
This would assuage Putin’s voiced concerns regarding the need for a buffer zone between Russia & the European Union. And, even if those concerns were contrived, their echo would fall flat in the face of this newly created, UN-protected dynamic which could be put into place peacefully. And, before you say the UN has no protective forces to speak of... Well, maybe that's something that also needs to be addressed.
Over time, as international trade between these Central Asian States flourish and the international community flourish, the chance of a more united world would develop.
It’s time to learn from our mistakes.. and improve our solutions.?This proposal is an improvement of what was drafted to create Israel.?
Let’s think things through and move forward.

2 年The way to maneuver peacefully, is to take away Putin’s incorrect assessment that NATO has broken its promise not to encroach any further East than Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall & the Soviet Union. There was no agreement made by NATO or anyone else concerning the independent States that either broke away from the USSR or happen to be are located between Germany and Russia forming their own pact. And, such a grouping, separate from NATO, would serve as a geographic buffer between Russia & Europe. This concept both eliminates the breach that Putin cites as his justification to do what he’s doing & provides the geographic buffer that ought to assuage the fears that Putin claims Russia has. If it’s not enough to stop Putin’s aggressive acts, then say that Putin isn’t being honest with anyone; & most surely should be removed… most likely by Russians who have grow weary of being isolated and sanctioned internationally because they are “bad actors.”
