Growing up as the youngest among six siblings, every step I took seemed to follow in their well-trodden paths or venture into the uncharted territory they couldn't explore. Thus, I found myself designated as the chosen one to conquer these uncharted territories. One such uncharted realm involved pursuing a career deemed esteemed by the preceding generation of adults. My mission: to secure my mother's entitlement to proudly declare herself "Mama Doctor" (In Africa, unless your offspring bore the titles of Doctor, lawyer, or Engineer, your parental prowess was questioned).

The extent of my mother's disappointment upon my deviation from the hallowed halls of medical school was palpable. Instead, I embarked on a journey that diverged significantly from the traditional legacy vocations. How could I articulate to her, in a manner worthy of boasting to her circle of friends, that as an M&E Specialist, I occupied a space akin to that of a Medical Doctor in the realm of Development?
