Hey Leaders; Here's Why Your People Probably Think You're Boring!

You may have heard the expression "Curiosity killed the cat."

I've never heard of one cat case stat on this but, we've all heard of cases where it has killed the careers of rising-star managers and leaders! What are you curious about lately?

I'm a skeptic when it comes to self-promoted empaths and psychics. I'm sensing here though, the wisdom of Curious George flowing through me here. He wants to speak to all you leaders.

Take his channeled reflections for what they're worth to you - personally and professionally.

  1. Leading with curiosity taps us into deeper sources of information available to us.
  2. Asking data-based questions out of curiosity will yield answers based on analysis, reasoning, and explanation.
  3. Asking questions out of curiosity will most often, yield deeper and more authentic information about feelings, values, and motivation.
  4. Information discovered through curiosity will be less censored, less deliberately crafted, less guarded, and less tidy.
  5. Leaders can demonstrate curiosity in any setting, purpose, and across any number of participants.
  6. As leaders express genuine curiosity, they are perceived as more genuinely interested in uncovering behind-the-scenes values and unearthing what really matters most for people and the issues they face.
  7. Curiosity is the means to uncover fresh answers, new approaches and undiscovered areas of richness to explore.
  8. Through a practice of leading with curiosity, we discover how naturally resourceful, creative, and whole are people are when allowed to be.
  9. It’s impossible to be angry, frustrated, or impatient when we’re curious.
  10. Curiosity invites intuition to express itself without judgment or reluctance.
  11. Curiosity like intuition is like a river that runs through us. It’s always flowing just beneath the surface.
  12. Practicing curiosity is usually not found in job descriptions. It should be.
  13. The job of leaders at every level is – to be curious.

Here’s to bringing your Inner Curious George out and, to your richer expression of curiosity!
