I made the decision to leave my current role at DHL, as VP Sales Development & Training at the end of September.
?
A hard decision. Hard.
And you can not imagine how difficult it was to get the actual words out and say it.
?
A year ago, a whisper started in my head: I want to spend more time with my family in South Africa.
?
I asked myself what I would regret more:
?
a)??? not climbing the corporate ladder to the top (or almost top ??) or
b)??? missing out on spending time with my family while we’re all still on this green ball rotating around the sun.
?
That whisper got persistent. And at the start of this year, it was a raging storm. It would not be ignored.
?
So, I decided to leave this big, beautiful job of mine and build a more flexible lifestyle. Where it’ll be possible to split my time between Germany with Dirk and sunny South Africa.
?
I spoke to my DHL leadership and we started to work on a plan. Here are the two options I’m working on right now:

Option 1:
Look for a 50% part-time role in DHL that can give me the flexibility I would love right now. And with that expand my beloved 7-year-old coaching business.
?
Option 2:
If by end of September, I haven’t found a suitable part-time role, I’ll leave DHL and continue full-time into my business.
?
But, friend, it's not end of September.
And this is not goodbye.
?
