Hey there Cyber Traveller!

Hey there Cyber Traveller!

Guess what? Thousands of people are gearing up to get brain?chips.

Yeah, you heard me right! But don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Let me break it down for you.

Picture this: I used to be just like you, totally clueless about all this brain-computer stuff. It seemed like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, right? But then, little by little, I started paying attention.

There were these fascinating experiments on mammals, teasing at what could be possible. And then, bam! I ran into a paper titled “Creating a false memory in the hippocampus” by Ramirez and his crew in 2013. That was it, my red pill moment. Blame it on Susumu Tonegawa and his Nobel-winning charm!

I was a computer science student back then, still thinking I’d stick to game development forever. But then, in 2018, Dong Song dropped a bombshell with their hippocampal neuroprosthesis that boosted short-term memory across 8 human participants by 35%. I was sold, man!

So, I shifted gears. My master’s thesis went from coding games to diving headfirst into brain-computer interfaces. And let me tell you, it was a wild ride. Suddenly, all my fancy programming skills didn’t mean squat. I had to start over, learning everything from scratch.

But hey, I didn’t let that stop me. I switched from typing at the console to product strategy roles and bounced around different biotech companies, soaking up as much knowledge as I could. Lab Automation, Clinical Trials, Generative AI, you name it.

And then, in 2021, lightning struck at the yearly BCI Spring School conference. David Moses blew our minds with his speech brain-computer interface. It was like something out of a sci-fi flick, but it was real.

And that’s when it hit me. There was a gap to fill. These top-notch labs were struggling with software that was crucial for their tech to hit the market. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work on project uCat. We started our mission to create the user interface for the next-gen brain-computer interfaces.

But here’s the kicker: while everyone else was focused on the tech, they were forgetting about the end users. And don’t even get me started on artificial intelligence. These folks were missing the Large Language Model boat big time.

I decided to spill the beans. I wrote a book laying out everything I’d learned, alongside our kickass user interface prototype. And hey, I’m not keeping it all to myself. I’m all about sharing the knowledge, open-source style.

So, every week, for the next few months you’ll see a new article from me, citing the book.

If this is your cuppa tea, read on?—?the next decade may change what we’ve always thought of humans to be and it depends on your support.

Got questions or just wanna chat? Hit me up. I’m here for you, every step of the way. Let’s dive into this brave new world together!
