Hello everyone,
I am writing this edition of the newsletter after a memorable journey to Texas, U.S., while still coping with jet lag.
As we move into Feb 2025, things are changing, and we see new technological developments every week. We had DeepSeek shock the previous week and cybersecurity considerations for the same in this past week.
Let's look at the key highlights from the past week.
End user technology
IGEL partnership with Workspot
Workspot, Inc and IGEL Technology announced a new Unified Digital Workplace Platform to be available on IGEL Ready Program and App Portal. More details here:
This follows after Brad Tompkins, an ex-IGEL joined as new CEO of Workspot in April last year. This new combined solution is another example of growing traction in the thin client market. Leveraging both IGEL's strongly secured OS, and Workspot's secured cloud-native architecture, clients can expect improved cloud security for cloud desktops. Clients can focus on repurposing their devices and focusing on thin clients for efficient device management. They can also pursue a multi-cloud strategy while leveraging IGEL OS thin client device and Workspot's cloud PC on any cloud solution.
Hexnode expands to multiple OS
Hexnode announced that it has extended support of its solution for multiple operating systems such as Linux, ChromeOS and Apple visionOS. More details here:
This is significant as Linux and ChromeOS management were whitespace for Hexnode. As a major Apple device management software, it is important to support VisionOS. Clients considering Apple Vision Pro can consider Hexnode for managing these VR devices.

TeamViewer comes to Google Meet
TeamViewer announced that its solution now integrates with Google Meet. More details here:
Leveraging collaboration and UCC solutions for remote monitoring and support has its own set of advantages and disadvantages, and I have covered that in one of my presentations to the Service Desk Institute (SDI), it is nevertheless an approach that many small and medium businesses would follow.
Managed Workplace services
Compucom partners with Verkada
This is a great enhancement to Compucom's service portfolio. Insights coming from Verkada solutions can be fed into its FLO platform to enhance its experience management capabilities. In particular, with RTO mandates gaining traction, this partnership seems to be a step in the right direction.
AI and the future of work
Zoho brings a new perspective towards AI
This week, I attended Zoho analyst event called, ZohoDay25 in Horseshoebay, Texas. Always known for doing things differently and differentiating in an already crowded enterprise software market, Zoho brings a new perspective towards AI. According to Sridhar Vembu, the erstwhile CEO and the new Chief Scientist at Zoho, AI should be focusing towards three main things: contextual business information, using machine learning to verify the AI output and privacy/ security of internal data. More details here:
Adobe brings AI for smarter contract document processing
Adobe announced that its Acrobat AI assistant can enhance contractual document processing. More details here:
I really liked the features that can identify a contract in a scanned PDF, compare two versions, secure sharing and signage. Legal processes and contract analysis are two of the areas identified by many as strong use cases for implementing AI. The majority of legal documents are in Adobe PDF format, and these capabilities enhance the processing of such documents. It costs $4.99 monthly but applies to all paid and free Adobe Acrobat plans.
That's all for the week, folks. Please feel free to share your thoughts and feedback in the comments below and share the newsletter with anyone you think would be interested in the content. Thank you so much for your support.
The next edition will be special!
Thanks
