Hexagonal Thinking and AI

As a passionate advocate of hexagonal thinking, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to incorporate AI into one of my favorite teaching strategies!

Objective:?Students will be able to identify and explain the connections and links between different concepts/historical events using hexagonal thinking and AI tools.

This task integrates AI-powered image recognition tools with hexagonal thinking, allowing students to explore different concepts or events in a new and interactive way. By making connections and links between different concepts or events, students will develop a deeper understanding of the relationships between different ideas and how they are connected.

Materials:

-18 visual hexagons representing different historical events related to civil rights movement/BLM (provided by teacher) / other concepts you want your students to discuss/ focus on

-Scissors

-“ImageChat-Chooch” app (or other AI-powered image recognition tool)- Students can use this app without logging in!

Assessment

Students can be assessed on their ability to:

-Identify and recognize the concepts or events represented in the photos.

-Use hexagonal thinking to make connections and links between the different concepts or events.

-Explain and justify the connections and links they have identified.

-Engage in productive group discussion and collaboration.

-Present their ideas and connections to the class.
