Hexagonal system Olympic Medal
The Olympic medals designed by LVMH's jewelry brand Chaumet. Designed with the shape of the Eiffel Tower in Paris as focusing idea. The central hexagonal metal symbolizes the shape of the French territory, and the medal facets scattered with golden light represent the glory of the athletes when they win the award, as well as the meaning of Paris, the city of light, La Ville-Lumière.
The hexagonal iron piece on medal is taken the raw materials left over from the repair and reconstruction of the Eiffel Tower. Use the exquisite prong “Griffe Setting” to create the ?”clous de Paris” pattern, in shape of a square pyramid in watches and jewelry, which can performance light and shadow like the rivet structure of the Eiffel Tower itself.
Griffe Setting prongs look like "creases" or "notches." ?The individual prongs can make the prong look more angular, flat or plate-like. Light will interact with the angular space of these claws, reflecting more of the light around the stone or shape , condensing the sparkling appearance.
" Clous de Paris " is an exquisite pyramid-shaped facade, which is a guilloche or dial embossed type. It is called " horseshoe nails " in English.
