Students will gain an advanced understanding of how the political, economic and physical context of health systems frames the application of health economics and policy; and how this can be used to inform health and economic development policies at regional and national levels.

Strong links to industry and a severe shortage of skills in this area ensure that graduates of this programme are highly employable in their home countries and globally.?Student destinations are in government, particularly Ministries of health and/or Welfare; international agencies such as the WHO, UNICEF, World Bank, and the Overseas Development Institute; academia; consultancies or think tanks, where they can use the knowledge and skills from the PhD or MSc to generate evidence and policy to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and equity of health systems.
