He's one of their own!
Happy to announce that fan's favourite and former Billericay Town youth player Henry Lukombo (20) has signed up for another season. It was a pleasure working with Manager Gary McCann, and Henry is looking forward to playing regularly under him, and being an integral part of his new project at the club.
Initially promoted from the youth team by then Manager Jamie O'Hara in the 2020/2021 season, Henry was given his National League Debut, aged 17, by Caretaker Manager Dan Brown, and finished the match with a place in the combined National League North & South team of the Week.
The following season (2021/2022) was a struggle for the team, with no wins in their first 7 matches. In came Caretaker Manager Dan Brown once again, and he gave Henry his first start of the season, and together helped Billericay record their first win. Despite a disappointing season which led to relegation, the 3 matches that Henry started, resulted in 3 wins, with Henry once again making the National League South Team of the Week, in the final game of the season.
Last season (2022/2023) Henry had to be patient and got his chance towards the end of the season, starting the last 4 matches. Henry helped Billericay to 3 wins and a draw, which was the team's best spell of form of the entire season.
Arguably the quickest player in non-league football, Henry is looking to help Billericay to regain their National League status, whilst on a personal note, looking to beat Kyle Walker's Premier League top speed record!
