He's not just a statistic...

It has to be 3 weeks now that an old rugby colleague asked me to don a pair of boots for a charity game of rugby in aid of a young boy who was suffering with Lymphoma. I've been asked to take part in a number of charity games in the past and I do, but this one peaked my interest not because it is any more distressing than any other, but by the passion my friend showed as the young boy is a family friend.
Jenson Wright is 4 years old is never without a smile, amazing really as I'm sure I will moan more about my physical condition after the rugby match than he does after his operations and medical care. He loves his cartoons and super heroes and this is why we have chosen to represent Jenson when we play as 'Supermen' against a team of villains from Newton RUFC. We have named them that for the day, we haven't purposely gone out and corralled a gang of thugs for the day.
This post was to highlight Jenson's plight and I urge anyone that has a spare moment to search through social media for 'Jenson's Journey' and 'Jensons Journey Charity Rugby game' for updates and opportunities to support this great cause.
I've titled the post 'He's not just a statistic' and I know he isn't to all concerned but he's just a boy who one day wants to be a superhero and I think he deserves that chance...
