He’s an industry veteran, a pioneer, an artist.

Meet #ScottBuchanan, one of the great American beauty stories. He dropped out of high school when his mother died and threw himself into the service of others in a nursing home for his own healing.  His discomfort at the site of blood served as an indicator that a different career was needed.   A basic beauty school education started a career behind the chair and a disastrous first salon position helped Scott realize, quickly, that the craft of hairdressing required advanced education.

Seven years later he was running a salon. Enter #HorstRechelbacher of #Aveda. Scott was soon the first exclusive Aveda salon in #NewYork City. Today he owns four Aveda salons in New York with over 200 employees.  He travels the world as a global educator for Aveda and serves on the Board of Directors for the #ProfessionalBeautyAssociation.  He has been successful in nearly every aspect of his beauty career thanks to good instincts, a heart for service and a thirst for knowledge. He attributes a good deal of his business decisions to going with his gut and uses running and meditating as a way to tap in.

He’s an industry veteran, a pioneer, an artist, always with a focus on his team and the customer experience. How does he do it? He lives the dash. Find out what that means. Listen to #RadioAMB, today at 11 am Pacific as #PattySchmucker interviews Scott. Fascinating, and pretty important.

Also plan to join us week to hear Radio AMB skin specialist #AlieshPierce of #AskAliesh. She is a published author for #Milady on diverse skin conditions and will report of her recent trip to Europe and the newest trends in skin care, appliances and make-up.
