The Leadership Hero Myth

Most people still believe that they are in competition with their peers and that the best ways to get ahead in their career or business are to work harder, outperform others, or come up with an idea no one else has.
It's the belief that only a hero acting alone, wins.
But this is a myth.
The reality is that people who value the contributions of others, know how to bring out the best in them, and who work and collaborate with diverse people produce the best results.
The reality is that in today's world, we have to stop being possessed by the myth of the hero.
The reality is that it's actually the inclusive leaders, co-leading with others, who win.
Men and women are not in competition with each other. There are not a finite number of opportunities. Women are the most underutilized, underrepresented talent and leadership pool in the world. Their equal contribution would add $28 trillion in GDP to local and global economies - that's a whole lot of opportunity for all of us!
When men and women work and lead equally together, they both win.
Are you still believing a myth?
“A belief is not merely an idea the mind possesses; it is an idea that possesses the mind.” ― Robert Oxton Bolton
