Heritage Periodic Table of the Elements Knock-Off Scam sold by Pears and Peaches

Bought from PEARS AND PEACHES https://pearsandpeaches.com this table of elements that supposedly contains real elements embedded in the plexiglass block --> https://pearsandpeaches.com/products/periodic-table-display-w-real-elements
Bbiggest SCAM ever, there are no elements, only rudimentary pictures that are supposed to look like elements... even more scandalous - this is supposed to be a Kickstarter financed product: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/36969846/the-heritage-periodic-table?lang=de. Kickstarter refused to investigate further, they don't see a problem... and Pears and Peaches does not reply and does not reimburse the money paid... this is a real scandal, if indeed these pieces are from the Kickstarter project than everybody who helped financing this should be reimbursed immediately... I am outraged!!
Thanks to Friedrich Menges I just found out that this seems to be a knock-off sold by some fraudulent companies and not the one sold via the Kickstarter project; I would indeed like to see the real thing though, as on the images I have seen there seems to be something in the "gaseous elements" as well, which seems pretty absurd to me, and there is some material in the thorium and uranium field, which seems pretty dangerous to me... So - lets see if I can get my hands on the real thing - somehow.
The top of the top is that the idiot-scammers designing this knock-off have put "elements" that exist only as gas at ambient conditions, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, neon and argon, so basically they claim to have added solid forms of all these.... (see pictures); so basically the temperature within this table must be below 3 Kelvin (less than -270°C) and under pressure, the only condition under which helium exists as a solid!!! And besides, they put the two highly radioactive elements Uranium and Thorium, and surprise surprise, the laboratory grade Geiger counter does not pick up any radioactivity (plexiglass does not block radioactivity except for alpha particles.....). Pretty cool is also that the ignorant scammers marketing this product have found solid mercury
The product was marketed by PEARS AND PEACHES here on Instagram, it's incredible what type of crooks are out there - too bad when they sell to an analytical lab who can prove that they are doing illegitimate things.... sometimes I don't understand the world anymore....?????????????

4 年Happened to me, too but was mailed from Jamaica, New York but the wrong zip code, sent it back and have not heard back yet, it had a corner in the right bottom back that was chipped off. ?All the elements were etched in and not placed in as advertised on Facebook. ?I was totally angry as I paid top dollar for this piece. ?I sent it back as addressed, but no addressee you would think the USPS would at best made sure the zip code matches the city!

5 年There are several warnings for fraudulent sites in their Kickstarter's comments section: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/36969846/the-heritage-periodic-table/comments? Plus, quite some discussions and decisions about how to handle and provide the highly reactive and gaseous elements... So, they were at least aware of these problems.
