Heritage Roofing Company Selected to restore South Carolina's treasured Cockaboose Railroad rail car pavilion @ Williams Brice Stadium!

Historic in nature, statewide treasures, national exposure, pride and commitment back to our community. Heritage Roofing Co. is proud to have been selected as the contractor of choice to restore South Carolina's Cockaboose Pavilion here in the capital city of Columbia SC.

The Cockaboose rail car pavilion stretches over half a mile in length from one end of the stadium to the other, with all the rail cars to restore we are confident Gamecock Nation will be proud as well!

A complete grinding of the existing surface removing all scaling and loose paints with in many areas a complete grinding to the steel plate of the rail cars themselves.

Grinding off the original paint applied from factory during the rail cars initial service life while in use and depending on the rail car up to 4 more successive paint or coatings some with asphalt pours that were used to seal leaks many years ago.

The approved scope of restoration is to grind off loose and scaling existing substrate coating or paints, The manufacturer Heritage Roofing Co. partnered with on this restoration is Acrylab's Renewable Roof Systems and in following their system specifications are being completing as follows:

Upon a ground and fully adhered existing substrate, Acrylab's Metal Prep Rust inhibiting primer is to be used as the first step process,let Cure, installation of Acrylab's 2100 B Base coat industrial acrylic, let cure,installation of Acrylab's Brushable flashing grade sealant to all joints, seams, rivet and penetration locations,let cure and finally Acrylab's 2100 HT (High Tensile Strength) premium top coat tinted to USC Gamecock Color garnet.

Update. Project is moving forward at a great pace. Heritage hired Palmetto Dustless Mobile Blasting. These guys rocked. They worked tirelessly to meet our schedule. Check out the link below. Crazy what they can do with their rig from prepping cars for paint to making a house look like its white washed. https://m.facebook.com/PalmettoDustlessmobileblasting/ After three samples that Acrylabs provided, we came up with a color match that the association was happily with. Since then the crew has been working thru the challenges of the heat and humidity with a dedicated drive. Here is a shot of several cars with the finish coat. Looks great beside the fact it’s not Clemson orange.
