Here’s why you must know about these 6 games from the 90s

To be born in 90s is like experiencing best of both the real and virtual worlds. Green grass was and shall always be on the side of 90s kids. Timing of experiencing the connection without internet and then connecting to internet was just magical for us. This is what I will call, 'Being born with the diamond studded spoon'.
This write-up is going to make you nostalgic while pondering upon the harsh reality; being born in such a great time, we lost our childhood in finding the silver lining.
We are from the age of pakam pakdai, chuppan chuppai, unch neech ka papda and what not. If we could just keep our reality in the real life, we would not have lost the real in the digital space. Let me simplify this...
- Vish Amrit aka Lock and Key
Throwback: The aim of the ‘denner’ is to touch the other players, giving them vish. As soon as vish (aka poison) is given the person stays there until teammates come to give him/her amrit (aka elixir).
Having ‘good’ in this world can keep up the balance with existing ‘bad’. We either forgot that we all have Amrit or started believing that nobody has vish. In the game, if you shared your Amrit, did you get vish in return? No! Humility grows when shared and evaporates if kept safe.
- Dog and the bone
Throwback: Consisting of two teams, and an object such as a bottle or handkerchief, which is designated as the “bone.” A player from each team comes forward and attempts to take the bone (placed at the centre of the playing area) back to his team.
Success isn't only defined by what you achieved but also how well you protected yourself. The fame, the money and the power have blindsided us from the need to protect ourselves (our relationships, our financial sustainability, our peace of mind and our well-being).
- Four corners and Unch neech ka papda
Throwback: Depending on the game, players either choose a corner or place (Unch- an elevated place or Neech- near to the ground) to stay safe from the ‘denner’.
It is as easy to reach at a position as it is difficult to sustain it.
- Chain
Throwback: Once the ‘denner’ catches a player, the player becomes part of a chain (which is formed by holding hands) and then has to help the ‘denner’ in catching the remaining players.
Ripples are the vibrations generated on touching as many frequencies as possible. If I am able to touch the life of one and he inturn touches the life of other, we will end up being one gigantic positive ripple, holding hands of one another. The race, the competition has got us to the level of extinction and self destruction, what if we give collaboration a chance?
- Poshampa bhai poshampa aka Simon went back and 'London Bridge is falling down'
Throwback: 'Laal Quile Mein Kya Hua, Sau Rupaye Ki Ghadi Churayi, Ab Toh Jel Mein Jana Padega, Jail Ki Roti Khani Padegi, Jail Ka Pani Peena Padega, Ab Toh Jail Mein Jana Padega...'
Wasn't it clear enough that anything corrupted locks you up for life? 100 Rs turned to 100 crore while our innocence got locked up under the system. From constantly running to save ourselves from getting caught in the game, we conveniently accepted to fit ourselves in the system of life.
- Doctor Doctor
Throwback: The 'doctor' was sent away while the others entangled themselves into a bunch of indistinguishable limbs. The doctor had to untangle them without letting anyone escape!
We continue to play this game, tangling ourselves on purpose, messing up the simplicity and complicating every phase of our life. Only difference is, now instead of calling for a doctor, we consider ourselves the subject matter experts of every complication caused.
Let us find those with whom we most resonate energetically, and we will find the power of that collective force to be one that can create without limitations!
What if we make some changes in the exterior to explore our interior? What if we let these throwbacks not throw us back anymore? What if we, for once, embrace life as it comes without comparing it with others’?
