Here’s Why Loan Officers Need to be Organized

Paying attention to the latest strategies and tips is always a smart idea for loan officers, but sometimes, the simplest strategies can benefit your business in ways you didn’t expect. One of the easiest improvements LOs can make is to get better organized. It doesn’t require much effort, and it will help you in these areas:

?

A Better Client Experience

When you’re organized, you won’t waste any time looking for missing paperwork, and you won’t be trying to make sense of an indecipherable calendar when attempting to schedule a follow-up. Start with your email inbox. When that gets put in order, important messages won’t get buried beneath 50 unread emails that aren’t important. Being organized helps you, but it also helps your clients. They’ll see a calm, confident professional who is never flustered, and it helps to put them at ease.?

?

Limit Distractions

When you’re disorganized, you’re basically welcoming distractions. A messy, haphazard desk and office makes concentration challenging; there’s always something within sight that can grab your attention. Both your physical and digital spaces should be tidy —?I mentioned the email inbox already, but social media is a big concern. Blocking out some time for social media, and avoiding it outside of that time, can be Very helpful. Disabling notifications won’t have you picking up your phone or checking email and social media every couple minutes. That will ensure you’re entirely focused on the task at hand.

?

Improve Efficiency

Being organized increases our efficiency. When you’re disorganized it creates stress, and stress is a bigger drain on productivity than anything else. An organized environment helps you keep functioning at your highest level and managing your time effectively.

Whether you’re starting from scratch, and you need the right systems in place, or if you just need to slightly modify the systems you already have in place, these ideas are a good starting point. Once you begin paying closer attention and prioritizing organization, it will be easier to maintain your new systems, and easier to spot inefficiencies when they appear.

If you’re a New Jersey loan officer considering new opportunities, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’d love to set aside a few minutes to tell you all the reasons why CrossCountry is the best company to align yourself with.
