Here's Why I Choose to Annoy 1,000 People a Day

School trained us to believe that we live in a meritocracy.
Meritocracy is a fancy looking word that basically means: that the more skilled or educated you are the more successful you’ll be.
This is kind of true, but here’s what’s more true…
We live in a capitalistic meritocracy governed by nepotism.
This means, if you’re really skilled at spending money to get in front of people and/or you know the right people, you can be adequately skilled and undereducated, yet still be massively successful.
That was a lot of words, so let me break it down like this:
Have you ever seen someone that was really successful or they held a high position at a company, and you knew that they weren’t as educated or skilled as someone else?
It happens in all industries from corporate America to entertainment to government..
We've all seen an elected official or even a candidate at a high level of politics that didn’t appear very articulate or intelligent, and wasn't very educated, but yet there they were elected into an office where they are influencing the lives of thousands if not more.
This is why I have made a concerted effort to annoy at least 1,000 people a day with the goodness that is me. ??
Why do I use the word 'annoy'?
Because everybody you don’t know, that shows up uninvited is initially a pest to you. Think about it.
That unsolicited email from a small business owner asking you to purchase their product or service, that DM asking to connect when you know they're going to be asking to sell you something, or that phone call from a telemarketer.
I mean, how dare they try to feed their families by asking me if I need help with something! (sarcasm)

I'm that pest no matter what I do. You can do all the right things and still annoy people. So I embrace it and if you want to be successful, you should too.
I send emails to people everyday whose job it is to answer emails and they yell at me to stop (all caps is yelling through text right).
I post intelligently “edgy” content just to get people to roll their eyes and unfollow me.
I post videos of me speaking 4-5x week with captions such as: "Hire me! I'm pretty good!"
I know, I know...It's annoying and maybe a bit crass..
But there are 2 things I've learned that’s instructive, first..
Greatness and consistency annoy the average and inconsistent.
Use that for your life and/or pass it along.?If you want to be great, make a lot of money, make a huge impact, change lives, or sell a lot of your daughter's girl scout cookies you will annoy people. Embrace it and do your best not to take it personally. Secondly..
Unless you're mean or disrespectful in your pursuit, they're not mad at you, you're just interrupting a part of their life they either enjoy or hate. Shake the dust off your feet and move on.
Until next time.
