There's usually a reason when employers aren't interested in you if you're an age 40+ job seeker.
And while there are exceptions, it's typically not because employers have something against older job seekers.
But they usually perceive that you'll have higher compensation requirements than less senior candidates, especially when applying for higher level positions.
For more highly compensated candidates, hiring managers naturally want to know if you're worth it, especially during a recession. And that's often the cause of the problems many age 40+ job seekers face.
You know you're worth it. But most job seekers do a poor job of proving you're worth it in your?resume?and interviews to employers ... and there's a common reason.
Instead of describing yourself in a way that proves you're worth it, most age 40+ job seekers have been taught to describe themselves as?qualified?and to describe responsibilities/experience. Almost everyone does this ... and you probably do also, because it's how you've been taught to think of your career.

But this description causes you to undersell yourself. By describing your qualifications, responsibilities and experience you force employers to guess if you were a success or a failure. Instead, you focus on what you were supposed to do, rather than how well you did it.
This type of description may show that you're?qualified, but that's not enough when employers perceive higher compensation and see many?qualified?candidates (so?qualified?= average). This description fails to prove you're worth it. When you fail to prove you're worth it, why wouldn't an employer consider giving a less experienced, but less expensive candidate a shot at the job ... instead of you?
What if you could learn how to change how you describe yourself and your career, so you can prove you're worth it to employers? Why not let me teach you how to prove you're worth it, along with other ways to overcome ageism in your search? While we're at it, I'll show you many other strategies to find a great job fast.
