Ads Inspiration

As I went through our different ad libraries, I stumbled on a series of "competitor" ads that I felt would make a good little trio to round out the week. Today we will talk about a more subtle competitor ad that DOES call out the competition by name. ??

This strategy isn't going to be for every brand. Nectar's sunglasses are an alternative to Oakley, especially as a cheaper option that doesn't miss out on quality. How do we know this? We combed through the site reviews. I've talked a lot about how your review database is one of the most significant and overlooked sources of information. It's worth repeating.

Nectar was ok going after their competition as long as it wasn't coming "directly from the brand," so we ran with it. Hundreds of reviewers compared the sunglasses to Oakley, so letting their customers do the talking felt smart.

If you want to be more direct about how you compare to the "other guys," this is a great strategy, especially if your customers make that comparison for you.
